Tray is the Key to an Organized Apartment
A tray? Yes! If you’re looking at your coffee table, mantel or desk right now and think how messy it gets all the time, place those stuff on a tray, Or a book.
This instantly makes your table area visually pleasing as all of your stuff now looks like one entity rather than 5 different things on a table.
If you are getting overwhelmed with where to start decluttering, try putting things on a tray or a book 😉
Group Things in Odd Numbers
This has to be one of the easiest organization tips for messy apartment!
When you have too much going on your table, try to group things in threes or fives -preferably odd numbers. You’ll be surprised how quickly you get your apartment to look neater.
Decor Rotation
That one piece of clothing or mantel piece we can never get rid of because it’ll come handy someday. We all have a problem of getting rid of things.
To organize your apartment with too much stuff you don’t want to get rid of, you can do a decor rotation.
Put away stuff you are not using at the moment in your store room and when you get bored of your current setup, you can pull things out of your store room for a new look.
This is exactly how you declutter your home without regrets! Easiest way to elevate your apartment for free!
Ease of Access
An important thing to keep in mind while decluttering your apartment is ease of access. There’s no point in organizing stuff in boxes and trays if your can’t easily access them.
Stacking your things in a bunch of shelves, drawers where you can’t even get what you’re looking for create unnecessary clutter. This will make you frustrated and before you know, your closet is a mess again.
This Rotatable Organizer is the best way to access all of your makeup or toiletries without having to move things around to get what you want.
Create Declutter Zones
Declutter zones.. what? So you know how everyday you come home and drop your keys, jackets, jewelry and other stuff in certain places..?
How about you put a bowl there? Or a hook? Such an easy organization tip to avoid a messy apartment!
Instead of changing your habit, you can accommodate to it by creating declutter zones in your apartment.
Active and Passive Storage Areas
The best organization tips for a messy apartment is to organize things based on their day to day use.
It wouldn’t make sense to pile up all your clothes and organize them in your closet when there’s clearly certain clothes you’ll opt for more than others.
So, put your essentials in an active storage area and the non-essentials you might need once a month in a passive storage area.
Same for your kitchen cabinets. The cutlery you use everyday needs to be in the bottom most row because, -ease of access.
Make Use of Weird Spaces
Every home or apartment has a weird nook or corner that makes you wonder what was the person constructing the place thinking.
You should take full advantage of such weird spaces in your home for storage instead of making it a display area. Make use of rods, hooks and command strips to organize better.
These Extendable Rods for Closets are a game changer! It comes with an obvious hook and the rod itself is extendable. Your closet will look so much more organized and you can fit in twice as much!
Another absolute favorite organization tool of mine is this Command broom and mop gripper. Super useful when you have a really small laundry room.
All you have to do is stick this Command broom and mop gripper on a wall and you can easily hang your mops and brooms on the wall.
You won’t have to worry about having bunch of rods lying on the floor and cluttering an already small space.
This Over-The-Door Paper Towel Holder and Over-the-Cabinet-Door Organizer are the easiest organization tips to make your apartment less messy.
You could organize your toilet paper, trash bag or paper towels using this Over-The-Door Paper Towel Holder. Placing in one of the doors of the cabinets under your skin will help you save so much space!
The same goes with this Over-the-Cabinet-Door Organizer. Super convenient way to store and organize your soaps and liquids!
This Magic Eraser has nothing to do with storage or organizing your messy apartment but, its one helpful tool you MUST have!

Closed Cabinets
The open shelving looks cool and all but that’s about it. It just LOOKS cool. Its not easy to maintain or keep up with. And not safe either.
I think this has to be one of my favorite organization tips for messy apartment.
Do yourself a favor and get closed cabinets, shelves and closets. So you know, no matter what crap you put in there, it looks organized from the outside.
